Mike Flanagan In Negotiations To Direct The Exorcist- Deceiver

Universal and Blumhouse’s revival of the Exorcist franchise stumbled with The Exorcist: Believer in 2023, but a veteran horror director may soon help reinvigorate the next sequel. Via The Wrap, Mike Flanagan is in talks to helm The Exorcist: Deceiver, following the departure of Believer’s director and co-writer David Gordon Green.

Flanagan has already established himself as one of the most prolific directors in the horror genre, whose previous credits include Doctor Sleep, Oculus, Absentia, Gerald’s Game, and Ouija: Origin of Evil. Flanagan has had even greater success on Netflix, where he created The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Midnight Mass in addition his adaptations of The Midnight Club and The Fall of the House of Usher.

Amazon Studios signed Flanagan away from Netflix in 2022, where he began planning an ambitious new adaptation of Stephan King’s The Dark Tower. The Wrap notes that Flanagan’s commitment to this project may get in the way of directing the Exorcist sequel even though Prime Video hasn’t formally ordered The Dark Tower to series yet.

According to the report, negotiations between Flanagan and the studio are still at an early stage, and may not come to fruition. However, it also states that “there is interest from both sides and Flanagan has a take on the material.”

Naked Gun Remake Adds Iconic Baywatch Star To Cast

There is something to see here, as the Naked Gun remake has brought on Baywatch icon Pamela Anderson to star alongside Liam Neeson. Her role hasn’t been disclosed yet, but the actress will follow in the footsteps of the original film trilogy’s Priscilla Presley, according to a new report.

The Hollywood Reporter says Anderson will play the love interest of Neeson, who will play Drebin. In the original trilogy–including the TV show Police Squad–Leslie Nielsen hilariously brought Detective Frank Drebin to life. When the Naked Gun reboot was initially reported in development back in 2022, it was believed that Neeson may in fact play as the son of Nielsen’s Dreben.

Anderson rose to prominence in the 1990s, appearing in the first two seasons of Home Improvement and then starring in Baywatch from 1992-97. Her personal life has also been well documented, such as getting a Hulu limited series called Pam & Tommy in recent years. She also spearheaded her own personal project with Netflix’s Pamela: A Love Story that debuted last year.

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers director Akiva Schaffer will helm the Naked Gun remake, as well as script the film with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. They all worked together on the Disney+ movie that married live-action with animation Come from Sports betting site VPbet . Mythic Quest Eight-Episode Spin-Off Series Mere Mortals Coming To Apple TV+

Mythic Quest is getting a limited spin-off called Mere Mortals that will explore “the lives of employees, players, and fans who are impacted” by the fictional game at the center of the main series. Variety was first to report.

The show comes from writers Ashly Burch (who also plays tester Rachel) , John Howell Harris, and Katie McElhenney–who all work on Mythic Quest. There’s no word yet on when the show will premiere, but Season 3 of the flagship series returned to Apple TV+ back in November. Mythic Quest creators Megan Ganz, Rob McElhenney, and Charlie Day will executive produce Mere Mortals along with executive producer and star David Hornsby.

Last year, Mythic Quest was renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 Come from Sports betting site VPbet . Season 2 concluded in June 2021, with the series proving to be a surprising success for Apple. The Minecraft Master Chief Mash-up was originally released in 2014 including themed textures, skins, maps, and Halo music tracks.
